JAMAICA RUGBY FOOTBALL UNION
Founded in 1958, the Jamaica Rugby Football Union (JRU) is the national governing body for the sport of rugby union in Jamaica and is a member of the International Rugby Board (IRB), the North America Caribbean Rugby Association (NACRA) and the Jamaica Olympic Association (JOA). The organization is responsible for the development of the game throughout the island with boys, girls, high school, collegiate and club rugby programmes (for men, women, juniors and Over 35s), as well as all of the national teams that represent Jamaica in international competition. It is also responsible for the development of the nation’s rugby coaches, referees, and administrators. As part of this development, the JRU hosts a number of courses, clinics, and National Championship/Tournament events. It also hopes in the future to host more international matches throughout the year.
